In the current local Core pool, E appears in 948 of 2,000 words, while A appears in the most words when the broader 9,983-guess bank is selected. The explorer therefore shows the pool, denominator, counting rule, and measurement date beside every result instead of presenting one ranking as permanent truth.
Wordle letter frequency: Use presence when the question is how many words contain a letter. Use occurrences when repeated copies should count separately. The five-position heatmap always measures the exact slot, because one character occupies only one slot. The word inspector then combines those descriptive values for a proposed five-letter word without replacing the site's separate starting-word ranker or solver.
